A Friend's House Adult Day Services

What is A Friend's House:

A Friend's House is a support program for physically and/or memory impaired adults and their caregiving families.

What services does A Friend's House provide?

    A Friend's House provides:

  • supervised, daytime care and activities for physically and/or memory impaired adults who cannot or should not be left alone during the day

  • monthly support groups, counseling, care consultation, information and referral, and respite services for caregiving families

  Eligibility:

    Adult day services are for the adult who is:

  • confused or forgetful

  • in need of socialization or companionship during the day

  • able to get around with or without assistance (canes, walkers, and wheelchairs are acceptable).

  • reasonably continent of bowel and bladder

  • in need personal care or other assistance with activities of daily living

  • in need medication monitoring

  • able to participate in individual or group activities without disruptive behavior

  • able to be away from home and primary caregivers without fear or anxiety

An individual plan of care is designed to meet each person's needs, interests and capabilities.

What about caregiver support groups?

A Friend's House offers two monthly support groups:

  • The Alzheimer's Support Group meets on the third Monday of every month, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.  The group meets in the conference room Catholic Services of Macomb's main office in Clinton Township, and is for anyone caring for or concerned about someone with memory loss.  

  • The Caregiver Support Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.  The group meets in the conference room at A Friends House - Warren. The group is for anyone caring for or concerned about an older family member.

  • On site respite services are available on-site, for a small fee. Pre-registration is required if your family member will attend A Friend's House while you attend the support group.

Where is A Friend's House located?

A Friend's House has two convenient locations to serve you. A Friend's House-Clinton Township is located at 15945 Canal Road, between Garfield and Hayes.

A Friends House-Warren, is located at 26238 Ryan, just south of I-696 (Eleven Mile Road), in the former convent on  the campus of St. Cletus Catholic Church.

Hours:

A Friend's House-Clinton Township is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Extended hours and Saturday services may be available upon request.   

A Friends House-Warren is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am - 5:30pm. Extended hours and Saturday services may be available upon request.
